Lanun lanun Cari Bean?

May 27th, 2007 by adriankhoo

Hehe, just after watching lanun lanun cari bean (peanut)..

Well, enjoying show but a lot of loop holes need to be patch.

Nice to introduce Calypso as the most feared by all man alive. But instead of revenge her anger to the 9 pirate who sealed her off especially Davy Jones, she just turn into a giant… err Del Tiema and puff, it went kokokrunch..

So Capt Barbosa was alive because Del Tiema wanted the 9 out of 8 coin so that they will free her? Hmm, she seems so confident of that?

9 out of 8 lord of pirates are just bunch of useless shit. Jack, Barbosa, Ms Swan was fighting to death but what did the other pirates did??

White sand, a few hermit crab that looks like stone, a few Jack Sparrow, and err 5 minute is all the powerful, scary and most feared Davy Jones locker? I wouldn’t mind to be there seriously..

What is the Lord Beckett, East co dude doing? Why he just stand there doing ntg while i can see his ship is well equiped with super canon and a lot of his crew and ship are waiting his order? He went into stone mode?

Sau Feng err, well i suppose he should have said "Welcome to Termasek instead of Singapore". That time there is no Singapore lagi la bratha..

The leg licking part at the end was….nice, hehe

Anyway despite all still i must say that i still enjoyed it la..

Btw, i din’t get to stay in the cinema long enough to see this..

Quoted by Wikipedia

After the credits, in a scene captioned "Ten Years Later," a young boy approximately ten years of age is seen singing "A Pirates Life for Me" as Elizabeth walks behind him. It is implied that this is the child of Will and Elizabeth. The sun sets followed by a green flash and Will, on the mast of The Dutchman, sails towards the shore. According to the film’s writers, the curse of The Dutchman is broken if, after the ten years, the captain’s lover remains faithful. The final post-credit scene suggests that Will can now return to land, as Elizabeth has remained faithful. The green flash, which symbolises a soul returning from the dead, supports this theory. Apparently, a scene of dialogue between Tia Dalma/Calypso and Davy Jones, which explained this, was cut from the film, leading to confusion about the ending.

TMnut, finally?? It’s too early to judge yet

May 25th, 2007 by adriankhoo

I went to imigresen at Putrajaya yesterday. Supprisingly i finish fast at Immigration. I wan expecting 3-4pm. I done all my thing before 10am!!
So with a lot time to kill, decided to go Cyberjaya Tmnut HQ to lodge my complaint.
Leonora attend my complaint and i must admit she took my complaint seriously, call Tmnut subang and a few manager and their subordinate and ask them why no one follow my case. (I duno waht Leonora post was but she wear kot one) The tmnut subang aread (which is docket was handle by UGI team) was supprised. They said one of the tech team was on leave. Leonara said to them "maksud kamu kalau seorang cuti, takda orang buat kerja ke?"Takan kamu semua tak ada second ppl untuk handle cust ini? Tau ke kamu ini sudah lama?"
I was supprised she said that. She was so helpful that she make direct contact to a few ppl to retrify my case and demand them to do it  urgently.
SO feeling very satisfied with Leonara, i went back to my work la. The when i got home, darn it’s still the same. But i believe Leonora will follow up and wait till today. Morning is the same to me. Coudn’t go online at all. SNR margin at 0-2db.
Now at 12pm, i tried to online again. To my supprise my SNR margin have jump from usual 4-7db to 18db!

My normal speed tested by speedtest.net was maximum 250kbps but now it shoot to 507kbps.

Btw, when Leonora spoke to TMnut subang unit, she mention bout my DSLAM there with a lot of faulty db. Streamyx tak boleh up. Well, i duno what she mean by that. I think DB in DSLAM there faulty kot..
Well, i duno if i will face dc again o not but i hope that my problem have been retrified. No one from tmnut call me yet but i hope that my problem has been kau tim by them.

If it’s so, i would really thank Leonora for being so helpful la..Hehe

2nd email to TMNUT!!!!!

May 24th, 2007 by adriankhoo

Dear Cust service,

I call up everyday to Tmnet for the pass one week. I lodge a report (No:

5101004) on Wednesday 16/5/2007 and it’s been delayed to Saturday. The level

2 technician name Mozaini said that he will come to my house to troubleshoot but he is not there on Sat (19/5/2007).Then he said that my problem duedate will be last Sunday (20/5/2007) but again he never turn up.  So when i call them up again on Sunday and Monday, the lvl 1 cust service told me the due date extend to Monday and it’s in process. No detail, no report. Fine.

Tuesday i call them again and they said again the due date change to Tuesday. Again no report and no detail but only ‘i process’. My patient is wearing thiner.

Today i am fully frustrated and call up your cust service again. Your agent name Suraya on lvl 1 spoke to me. Again i hear the same shit again. ‘In process’ and due date change again!! You think due date is something we can change daily? DO ANYONE OF THEM KNOW WHAT DO DUE DATE MEAN???!!!!

So i demand to speak to her superior. I am here so frustrated and she told me that she need to fill a form only her superior will call me. What the hell is this? I demand again not letting the chance to slip by.

So she put me onhold for 15 minute and no one answer. I call up again tmnet, and demand to speak to Suraya again. Again she put me onhold for 15 minute and no one to attend me. No superior, no nothing!!

So the third time i call i spoke to another agent form lvl 1 and he put me to Farah, the superior of lvl 1 on 830am (23rd May 2007). She said will file a report againts Suraya and will look into my report. She said will call me back.

I am afraid i am being played around. Is there really a superior name Farah?

Or am i being conned by lvl 1 cust service claiming to be superior? Please feedback ASAP!!!

SS15 rojak hype!

May 20th, 2007 by adriankhoo

With all the hype buzzing round my ear telling that Subang Jaya SS15 rojak is superb, even The Star good food guide recommended this rojak stall. Was only staying a few miles away and i thought to myself, why not go there and sample myself the so called Ultimate Rojak??

In less than 10 minute i reached my destination. Yup, SS15 near Shell station. It’s there. Park my car and walk down a little. OMG, the queue is a killer. Be patient, i said to myself. I will get to ‘fine dine’ the ultimate rojak. With more than 15 people infront of me so i started my queue. It looks just like queing in the bank. Haha. While queing, to kill my boredom i sms some of my fren. One asked me to tah pau. Waited for about 20 minute before it finally came my turn. Umm,  look behind and the queue is getting longer. This time estimated to be around 30 strong amry. Young, old, lady, man, Uchiha clan, Kohona Green Beast, Mohawk, Sanji, Monkey D Luffy, Near, L, Ryuk, Yagami Laito, all patiently waiting for the ultimate rojak. (hehe, got drifted a bit by all this anime)

"Boss, rojak telur campur sotong, satu makan sini, satu kasi bungkus " I spilled out. As stated in the price list the rojak cost Rm3.50. Then to my next queue, a cendol stall just beside the rojak stall. The queue is rather short. Only 4 ppl infront of me.

What somemore? I started to wallop the ultimate rojak tanpa segan silu la. Hmmm, my taste bud dun feel any hype? No? One more time wallop, and another with chomp and kunyah and munch. My final verdict is…

Aduhhhh, what so special leh. Ma ma teh only leh. Ok to eat but not worth the time i spend queuing there. Nope, totaly not worth it. Cendol? Still prefer Melaka one.

Drive back to my home in USJ 12 pondering n puzzling what is this hype all about???

Dlink DSL-2640T wireless ADSL router

May 16th, 2007 by adriankhoo

Bought a DSL-2640T wireless ADSL router last two day. Yesterday contacted my Tmnut agent and today, voila i have an internet access liau. That was rather fast. Hehe.

So far tested it going smooth. No much major issue. This Dlink product features an ADSL 2/2+ modem with built in wireless router. Place it on my first floor and i am getting only 3 bar of signal strenght. No bad la..

Minor issue encounter are frequent dc by internet. I duno why. Maybe will consult the tmnet agent later if problem still persist. It will goes offline after sometimes of using. Maybe the signal arent strong, or maybe cause my tmnut line.

I susbcribe to Tmnut Rm66/ month package with 512mb. I think it’s enough for my usage la. Hope that the dc will be solved asap.

2GB DDR2 667 Ram

April 29th, 2007 by adriankhoo

Just upgraded my ram from 2×512mb DDR2 667 ram (1GB) to 2 x 1 GB DDR2 667 ram (2GB). Now my Asus notebook is a powerful monster that takes any program that throw to him smoothly. With 2 GB of ram utilizing dual channel memory it handle all my application faster. I notice that from minor loading Microsoft words to resource hog program like Photoshop CS2, it now load a noticeable faster. While my idle ram shows about 46% of ram usage in 1GB of ram, it now shows only about 26%. 20% different.

A benchmark from CPUZ different only by Bank Cycle Time which shows 5 clocks in 1GB while 2GB gave a result of 21 clocks. Hack, god knows what it is. I am not an IT engineer.

The only thing I couldn’t understand is why Vista Experience Index shows the same score (4.5) in Memory section. I was expecting an increase to 5.0 with 2GB ram. I notice the only score that changed are the Graphic section. Previously were 3.2 and now scores 3.3. Since Intel GMA 950 utilizing shared ram, I suspect that an increased of ram let GMA 950 performance better on the graphic. But a mere +0.1 score with an upgrade from 1GB to 2Gb left me unsatisfied.

Window Vista Home Premium 32-bit review

April 5th, 2007 by adriankhoo

Introduction to Window Vista

There is 4 type of Windows Vista to choose. Ultimate, Business, Home Premium and Home Basic. There is also Enterprise and Starter Edition which cater for bulk purchase for enterprise and low cost for Starter Edition. You can only get two versions on special licensing agreement.

For personnel users, there is a choice of Home Premium and Basic. I choose Home Premium as aero interface is the main reason for me to change to Vista. It makes no sense to opt for Home Basic which comes without aero.

32-bit Vs 64-bit

While 32-bit vista support up to 4GB of ram, it’s still wise to choose 32 bit. You can’t use 32-bit drivers on 64-bit Vista. Although 64-bit vista support up to 128GB of ram, it’s wise to stick with 32-bit for now as hardware driver must be manufacturer signed. It’s also lack of 16-bit DOS thus problem with older, custom apps (Or just older installer)

Vista at a Glance

1.       Sidebar Gadget: Loads of useful lightweight gadgets

2.       Window Explorer: With integrated search. Simply start typing for a program or file name to launch application

3.       Aero: Flip 3D view, live view or alt tab for a 2D live view. (Gorgeous)

4.       New Start Menu: It makes file navigation easier that let you jump to a specified level of hierarchy, integrated search, and live icon. (You can edit data on icon)

5.       Improved Security

6.       Ready Boost (Convert portable drive such as thumdrive to act like ram)

Features

Common to all editions of Windows Vista are ad hoc backup and recovery, instant Search, Internet Explorer 7 browser, Windows Media Player 11, Windows Mail e-mail client, Windows Calendar, Windows Photo Gallery, performance tuning and self-diagnostics, Internet protocol IPv6 and IPv4 support, Windows ReadyDrive, Windows Sync Center for mobile devices, Windows Mobility Center for presentations on the road, User Account Control (UAC) security protection, Windows Security Center, Windows Defender antispyware, Windows Firewall, Windows Meeting Space for ad hoc wireless meetings, Remote Desktop for working from home, XPS document support for PDF-like files, improved peer-to-peer networking, improved VPN support, and improved power management.

Home Premium users have built-in Parental Controls that allow you to filter Web sites visited as well as limit a user’s Internet access by specific hours; there are also online gaming recommendations, with an easy-to-understand industry rating system. Also, Windows Vista Home Premium and Ultimate editions both give you Windows Media Center, which has been redesigned to better take advantage of online television subscription services and home theater systems. There’s also built-in DVD-burning software, but because most DVD players come with their own software, we don’t find this to be a significant plus.

Bugs and Problems

This section is my experience of bugs and problem I encounter in a month of using Vista.

1.       Window Vista Index Performance page in Window Explorer totally gone for no reason. After goggling found the easiest solution by installing TweakVI and do some tweaking. Problem solved

2.       WMP 11 delay 5-7 seconds when clicking on next song. Problem by Sigmatel driver. Update driver and follow step by step solution by forum. Problem solved.

3.       WMP 11 crash numerous of time when opening .avi file extension. Reason APPCRASH. Found out that this problem cause by XP Codec Pack problem. Uninstalled XP Codec Pack and installed K-Lite Mega version. Problem solved.

4.       Boot up screen jumpiness (bout 2 seconds before Vista logo appeared). Solved by installing to latest Intel GMA 950 driver.

5.       The LED light at the bottom right corner of touchpad still ON eventhough the computer completely shutdown. Problem solved by itself.

6.       Slow shutdown and restart duration which I mention in my earlier blog. Found out that this happens with each new installation of new device driver. It took longer time as vista needs to configure the setting before it completely shutdown. No problem.

Strange Vista

Meaningless performance index.

A function where vista rates your CPU, RAM, HDD and GC and presents them by score rating. Instead of average score, vista chooses the lowest value as end result. Maybe Microsoft want to sell more software as it give them an opportunity to recommended products which will increase performance which I found it to be pretty lame.

Annoying User Account Control (UAC)

The major letdown here is this UAC annoyingly ask for confirmation for running the so called system critical task. It’s good for beginner or limited user but as administrator account it’s really unnecessary. It’s to improve security to prevent unauthorized execution of program but the slowdown outweighs this feature.

Hidden Shut Down button

A click in Xp shutdown will turn off your pc but in Vista, the shutdown button has been replaced to sleep mode. Of course it could be change to shutdown by clicking series. How to do it?

Start >Control Panel >System and Maintenance > Power Options > Change Basic Plan Setting > Expand Power Buttons > Lid > Expand Start Menu Power Button > and last but not least change setting from Sleep to Shutdown. Phew….

Conclusion

Vista offer lots of improvement over XP, but most of them are conveniences rather than essentials. As a whole, Vista feels more evolutionary than revolutionary. Vista is good but not spectacular. Call it a nice to have product rather than a must have.

Pros: Improved GUI, Slick Aero, instant search, improved security, lot better than XP

Cons: High hardware requirement, minor bugs, annoying UAC.

Note: Some resource are taken from PC Chips magazine and online website.
