2GB DDR2 667 Ram

Just upgraded my ram from 2×512mb DDR2 667 ram (1GB) to 2 x 1 GB DDR2 667 ram (2GB). Now my Asus notebook is a powerful monster that takes any program that throw to him smoothly. With 2 GB of ram utilizing dual channel memory it handle all my application faster. I notice that from minor loading Microsoft words to resource hog program like Photoshop CS2, it now load a noticeable faster. While my idle ram shows about 46% of ram usage in 1GB of ram, it now shows only about 26%. 20% different.

A benchmark from CPUZ different only by Bank Cycle Time which shows 5 clocks in 1GB while 2GB gave a result of 21 clocks. Hack, god knows what it is. I am not an IT engineer.

The only thing I couldn’t understand is why Vista Experience Index shows the same score (4.5) in Memory section. I was expecting an increase to 5.0 with 2GB ram. I notice the only score that changed are the Graphic section. Previously were 3.2 and now scores 3.3. Since Intel GMA 950 utilizing shared ram, I suspect that an increased of ram let GMA 950 performance better on the graphic. But a mere +0.1 score with an upgrade from 1GB to 2Gb left me unsatisfied.
