At last bought my air ticket. Was searching for almost a week for cheap flight to Macau from Air Asia. Price ranging from Rm550 to Rm700. Wanted to go for April.
This morning my sis send me sms telling me there is promo in Ais Asia. So quickly logged into Airasia website and i was supprice to see Rm30 one way to Macau. Cheaper than my Bangkok air ticket! After airport tax it cost me bout RM315. The only thing is the travel period is too long. Only will go on 6th July 2007. Same like my BKK trip, 4D3N. Still not yet book accomodation cause still early. Got a few more month to plan my holiday.
Damn, i hate waiting game..
My faithful Asus Notebook crashed on me last Thursday while installing Norton Internet Security 2007. I had forgotten that I took out my battery and unplug the power cable. Pooff, it became Kokocrunch. Hehe, just got a little sense of humour here. Well, what happen was I am not able to log in Windows. It just boots up to Window screen and reboot again. Tried various troubleshooting like boot in safe mood, last known work configuration, configure bios, check ram etc but it doesn’t work. The bluescreen error that pops out was Unmountable boot Volume or something like that. Tried to repair Window by booting with XP Pro cd but didn’t work as well. It gave me another bluescreen before an option of pressing R to repair or do a clean installation (format). Can’t log in windows and can’t format. What can I do?
So the very next day, bring to Evernew and they did a little test on my ram as well as hdd. Nope, they too couldn’t solve it. Ask me to bring to Asus Service Center at Wisma SPS, Bukit Bintag. So off I went there. Left my notebook there for 2 hours for them to diagnose and troubleshoot. In 2 hours time I went there again and they told me some problem with Asus ram. So they changed a new one for me. But problem still there but this time at least can boot up with Window XP cds. They can only format for me. All my Jazz collection (about 3GB) and song gone. Lucky enough I did safe my Bangkok Trip photo in my office computer.
Since all my date wiped out, Window Vista Home Premium came into my mind. (At last I got a reason to buy Vista: p) Went to LYP, and after comparing prices at various shops, alas the cheapest is from Sri Computer. An OEM version of Vista Home Premium cost Rm380. Price varies from Rm420 to Rm380. Furthermore Sri Computer offered free installation for me. Some places charges Rm20-Rm40. So I let them install for me while I have a cup of coffee at Oldtown Kopitiam with my friend. About 2 hours time, I went back to Sri Computer and saw their technician working on my Vista. First impression, WOW! Look lovely indeed. They activate it online in front of me. Update all my driver and Asus utility to Vista. Everything goes smoothly except shutdown and restart problem. The LED light at the bottom right corner of touchpad still ignite eventhough the computer completely shutdown. The LED light only turn off about 1 minute times. Restart took about 2 minute before it boot. They searched hi and lo for solution but couldn’t make it. So they suggested me to take it to Asus Service Center.
So off I went there again. The Asus guy was a little surprise that I have changed my OS to Vista. They updated the bios to Vista version but problem still persist. So they said will phone me on Monday as they need to ask for solution at their HQ in Taiwan.
Today was the 2nd day of using Vista. Love it very much. For your info, strangely the shutdown and restart problem had cured itself. Maybe after installing Registry Mechanic, it fixed the problem or maybe other software. Not so sure though. But who cares, as long as it’s running fine I am happy.
My full review of Window Vista Home Premium will be followed up soon.
In dillema for almost a month! To buy or not to buy! Wanted to buy but dunno if it’s worth it. Ish..
Hehe, i am talking bout Window Vista Home Premium. I am currently using Window XP Proffesional SP2. Thinking of buying an OEM version of Home Premium. It cost about Rm400. A retailed version will cost somewhere Rm900. The different between an OEM and Retailed version is OEM is not transferable. If you install it into PC A, then it will stay there forever. U can;t format and install it to PC B even thought ur PC A spoilt. This will also be a problem if ur hdd or mobo spoil. But i heard that one can call Microsoft to verified if you need to change new mobo or hdd.
So to buy or not is still a big question for me. If you know me well enough, u will know that i am so into gadget and software etc. Really feel like changing it but Rm400… Is it worth the penny??
Damn, to buy or not to buy……
Hajimemashite, dunno what get into me but now, i am full time anime fans. Haha, sounds like kiddo huh but once ‘kena’, addicted maut!
Finish watching Death Note anime from Chapter 1-13. Man, very nice. It sure has lots of different from Death Note Movie. So car couldn’t get hold of episode 14. Heard that the latest episode airing in Japan is Episod 19 only. So gotta wait a little while la.
So while waiting, started to watch Naruto. So far I have reached only episode 101 aje. I bought until episode 200 liau. Couldn’t wait to continue watching it. So nice. So addictive la. Btw, I also bought Bleach and One Piece. Bleach I bought only until episode 80 while One Piece 200 episod. Well, not say finish la but they still coming out with new episode for all those anime.
Err..Okla, no time liau. Have to continue wathing Naruto-kun. Hope my Asus DVD Player can tahan. Kambateh Kudasai!
Chinese new year is here yet again.. Starting to feel bored although it’s just the second day. Nope, not because i dun have any plan or wat, but it’s just the same old stuff that happen yearly. Kinda routine stuff. Is it because i am getting older and older? Sometimes i feel like i am an old man being trapped in the young body. Maybe the way i am is just different from my age.
Anyway, it’s still good to see friends that only appeared once a year. Everyone is too busy with their personel life but at least they are trying hard to make it to the reunion dinner each first day of CNY. Err, but is the reunion effectively reunite us? Do we chat much with our long lost fren as much as we chat with the same old gang we chat only a week ago in this so called reunion dinner? I dunno, maybe it’s just me but i see the same group of people are sitting togather chatting endlessly. How bout once a year fren? Hi, long time no see. What are u doing now? Oh ic.. END! You be the judge.
Btw, chinese new year, i dun feel it anymore. I dun even feel the spirit of CNY. Thinking back to my good ol schooling years, it’s totaly a big different. Used to enjoy CNY very much. One fine year, maybe i would totaly skip CNY and seize that opportunity to travel to other country to see their different tradisoanl cultural when celebrating CNY.
Wow, is the first word that came into my mind after installing the all new Microsoft Office 2007. It’s been about 4 years since we last had a new Office product. Here is a little short review.
Probably the most radical change in Office 2007 is the graphical user interface. This new GUI aims to reduce clutter, improve usability and aids in creating better document with less effort. Upon opening words 2007, I noticed that the standard tool bar is gone. Instead, now Microsoft implemented the so called ‘Ribbon’. It’s basically a tabbed interface with each tab revealing a set of panels, each having their own buttons, selection and toolbars.
Now I as I am typing using words 2007, it seems that many task have been simplified and there is even help assistant when my mouse move over the function. One thing I notice is when I highlighted a particular sentence or words while moving my mouse over Styles it change without clicking. This I believe is to reflect the styles before committing a change by clicking on it. Neat!
There is quite a lot of thing which I haven’t explored in Office 2007 like Office Groove, Info Path, and One Note and so on. I believe Office Groove is something like an online team work via internet. You can share yours document and manipulating it over the internet with your team partners. Not so sure though. Outlook 2007 GUI has changed too and I end up loving the all new interface.
The only downside of Office 2007 which I tested is words document safe in different extension. In order to open an Office 2007 document on Office 2003, you need to download File Format Converters from Microsoft.
I am back in Selangor. Reason why so slow updating my blog is because i fall sick right after i came back from Bangkok. Actually it’s already a bless as i didn’t fall sick while in Bangkok. I guess the hot humid and walking in the hot sun make me sick in Bangkok. Anyway, i am now fully recovered and recharged! So here goes my 3rd day in Bangkok
3rd February 2007
Wake up late today. Brush my teeth and take a bath and it’s already 9.30am. Sam Lodge at Asok is really a better choice. Walk to BST Asok and go down at BTS Mo Chit. Follow the crowd and bout 3 min, there i am, Chatucak Weekend Market. Heard that it’s the biggest flea market in Bangkok. Took my breakfast there. My first Tom Yam in Bangkok. Ermm, again ntg to shout bout. Ordered an ice coffee and my god, it came all black maut coffee. Taste sweet though. This biggest flea market are really huge. There is so many section. You even need a map at Chatucak. There is so many section around namely, food and beverage, cloth, furniture, cds and cassette (there is a shop selling all Jazz. So nice!), cloth accesories, pet, decoration, souvenier, books, message, aroma and more. Each section has more than 10 shops. You surely got the idea how huge it was. Ended up walking here and there, get lost, pass same shop over and over again, searching for things to buy as gift and for myself, wondering around in the hot sun, and all that for a freaking 5 hours! Phew.. Am i tired. My leg doesn’t seems to enjoy that for sure. Well, bout some shirt for me, friend and my parents, keychains, and some cikedee ( keropok, biscuit all that stuff la) Spend about TBH 1000 there.
After a tiring day a Chatucak, my body really beg for a Thai tradisional massage but my wallet doesn’t let me to do so. Man, am i broke. In future, i got to plan and manage my money more accurately. Ended up going back to my lodge. Took a bath and take a little rest. Went to dinner about 7pm and go to a nearby shopping complex. Robbinson and Times Square. Came back around 10pm and call it a day
4th February 2007
Woke late at 10am. Go down to street to eat my breakfast. Then came back relax in my room. Around 11.30am, took a taxi to Subrabumi Airport. Check in at 1.15pm. Took my lunch in the air port and around 3.20pm, boarded Air Asia back to LCCT. Arrived around 6.30pm. Bought some alchohol chocalate at duty free shop. Then took a cab back to my home sweet home in Subang.
Well, i guess this is one hell of experience. An adventure of a lone traveller. I enjoy every bit of my time in Bangkok. My next travel? Maybe on May or June. Will not say where i will headed to this time as i am yet to decide. One thing for sure, i really enjoy it! For those who decided to travel alone, a few advised from me. Be cautious of everything you do. Make preparation before you go to a foreign country. Do some research on the Internet. Note what is bad and what the worst situation/scenario can happen to you while you are travelling. Respect their culture. Take all precaution and last but not least, enjoy!
Photo time. Check it out —>Bangkok Trip 2007 Photo
Here i am in Bangkok for the 2nd day. Wow, what an experience here! Was here since yesterday. . Finally found an internet cafe that doesn’t burn a hole in my wallet. 1Baht perminute. So 60 baht an hour. RM6 perhour. Triple the Malaysian rate. Damn. Maybe because i am in the city area. Some places charge 2-5bath perminute!! Anyway, here is my 2 days blog in Bangkok.
Currency RM1 = +/-THB10
2nd February 2007
7.50am flight. Reach Bangkok at 9.55am. Bangkok GMT -7. So an hour delay for Malaysian. Upon arrival, hired a taxi to my Hostel Thailand. 750 baht pernight. This place is like so small and so cramp. Bad choice. But if for budget in good city area, i will recommend here. Bout 100m to BST (Bangkok Skytrain). The Hostel said its location is JUST beside the Chong Nonsi station. It means you will still gotta walk bout 2-3 minute away. Ok, enough of grandfather mumbling here.
Destination - Grand Palace. Took BST at Chong Nonsi station to Central Pier. At there, took Chao Phrya river boat to Tha Tien dock. (River transportation is the cheapest alternatif) Upon reaching, approach by first RIPPER! Firstly he ask me where i am from then asking where am i heading to. Looking at his ‘friendliness’, i answered him. Then he told me that unfortunately Grand Palace is close for today. Upon hearing that, i walk off straight. He was calling me from behind. Well, a week survey and researched on internet about Bangkok is not for nothing. This ripper/conman here will tell tourist that the Grand Palace is close or close at that time because of prayer etc will try to rip you off. They will offer to bring to another temple and blah blah GEM stone/ jewelly. Ahh, lazy to write here. Just do some google and you will get the drift of the later story.
The funny thing is there i couldn;t find any singboard for Grand Palace. So there i am walking aimlessly. Decided to ask the local for direction. Thie guy is wearing security uniform look alike. He told me that he work in Grand Palace and it’s just infront of me. Guess what? A second RIPPER!! And i walk off again. I promised to myself that i would not ask adult anymore. Saw a schoolgirl wearing thai school uniform and yeah, she told me the direction there. Quite a distance from the Tha Tien dock. Along the way there is numberous of RIPPER comes to me. And to hell with them, i just ignore them. Yup, the best way. Finally reach Grand Palace. Wow, a beautiful palace. Lot of temple are in gold colour. Was facinated by the sofisticate design. Actually, Grand Palace is a must visit. The most beautiful is house of Buddha. Nicely crafted in every single wall. All in gold! Unfortunately, no photo allowed as it’s the most holistic place. Spend about 2-3 hour there. Thought of going to Wat Arun aka Temple of the Dawn but my leg/toe is begging me to go back. The damn shoe make my toe blister. Maybe because of lot of climbing and walking and hot weather. Anyway, have a good experience here. Took lots and lots of photo.
Back to Hostel Thailand at Silom Jed ( Silom 7). Rest for a while. shower and take a quick nap. About 5pm, came down and walk along Silom road to the famous Patpong road. There is night market here which sell various of item. Erm, kinda like Petaling Street la. Nothing to shout about. The only different is, along the walking area, there is numberous adult entertainment here. Went into a bar name Super Star and have a beer there. Agogo bar. Hehe.. Just to look see only. At about 9pm, went back to Hostel Thailand. Sleep ealier as i am so tired and gotta wake up early for tommorow tour.
3rd February 2007
Destination - Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Today, woke up at 6:30am. Tour van came at 7am sharp. Booked this tour through Hostel Thailand as it’s cheaper in this way. If i am to go with taxi, it will be expensive. Join a group of Mat Salleh. Ratchaburi is 110km from Bangkok city. Reached there at about 9:30am. Took a long tailed Speed boat to Damnoen Saduak. Then at there, change to canal boat. Wow, love this place. One of its kind. Selling all kind of thing. Ranging from fresh fruit, vege, food to souvenier. By 10:30, the traffic in the river is a mess. Never know that there is such thing as traffic in the river. So many boat around. Anyway, a good experience here. Took lots of picture. Took my breakfast there. Talking bout food, been eating only noodles since day 1. Erm, kinda ok to me. Nothing to shout bout their local food.
Then our tour continued to Cobra show, which i didn;t enter and later to wood carving furniture shop. Nothing much at this two places. Reach my Hostel at 2pm. Check out as i only book a day.
Sam Lodge at Sukhumvit road. Price reasonable and near to BST Asok. Booked for 2 night here. So much better than Hostel Thailand. Price a little higher only. Take a rest..
5pm - Siam Paragorn & Siam Discovery. Took BST to reach Siam Central. A shooping paradise for the rich and famous. Ranging from Gucci to Versace, Adidas to Nike, Rolex to Tag, u get my drift. Of course there is still G2000, U2 etc. Just walk around and took some photo. Visit their food court. Lots of thing to eat. Japanese, Thai, western, asian etc. Not to mention all those fast food chain. Ended up at Starbuck. Ordered my favourite Greentea iceblended, cookies and chocolate roll a my dinner. Kinda more expensive in Bangkok Starbuck. A tall Iceblended Greantea cost me TBH 170. Not too sure the cost in Malaysia. But i dun recall RM17 for a tall size.
On the way back, stop at BST Nana. Famous for its adult night entertainment. It’s a short walk from BST Nana but a long way to heaven…Anyway, just go there to look see. Oh yeah, saw the local selling fried crokcoaches, larva worms, grasshooper and err, i dunno. It taste like… taste? Oh perr lesss, you dun expect me to eat those kinda thing, do you?? Took photo there.
Took BTS Nana to BTS Asok. Back to Sam Lodge. Rest and came down for a walk. Saw a night market near here. As i walk and walk further down, roughly bout 10 minute, i saw BTS Nana. Damn. Should walk just now from Nana and save TBH 10! So now, here i am in a Internet Cafe near to my hotel.
Budget is quite tight here. Damn, i bring too little money here. Paying 3 night hotel, taxi and tour already cost me RM600. Not to mention entrance fees, makan, BST, river boat, canal boat etc. I only change RM800 here. Just now change another Rm100. Changing rate here is so low. What to do. I still got another 2 days! Tomorrow got to go Chatucak weekend market.
Well, gotta stop now. Already cost mr nearly TBH 80 now. Will continue my blog here either tommorow if i have the time.
Wow! This is the reaction when i watch this Death Note otaku. I love it very much!
Was lim teh at a mamak shop when approach by dvd seller. Nothing to do, so bought Death Note 1. Went back and watch in on last Friday nite. Then straight, the next day i bought the earliest show at GSC for Death Note 2 - The Last Name. Superb awesome!!
To my amazed, this show gripped me till the end of the movie! The introduction of Shinigami (Death God) is so cool. When Ryuk appeared, with the background sound, perfect voice acting and said something like "Watashiwa Ryuk". It was like awesome.
Light Yagami (Kira)
The main character of Death Note, Light is a brilliant but bored 17-year old student. When he finds the Death Note dropped in the human world by Ryuk, a Shinigami, he decides to use it to kill all criminals, his ultimate goal being to cleanse the world of evil to create a utopia and to be the God of this new world.
Misa Amane
A girl with an immense crush on Kira. She is a popular idol in Japan, and tends to wear clothing in many different styles, depending on what she is doing. She is immature and has a tendency to refer to herself in the third person (calling herself "Misa-Misa") in an attempt to be cute. Misa is totally devoted to Light, and she once said that she loved him "at first sight". Light, however, only views her as an asset to his plans because of her Death Note and her "Shinigami Eyes" (that she obtained at the cost of half of her remaining life span). These "Shinigami Eyes" give Misa the ability to know people’s names by looking at their faces, thereby giving Kira an edge in his battle against his enemies. Misa read in the newspapers that the murderer of her family was punished by Kira, explaining her total devotion to him, regardless of whether she thinks of his actions as good or evil.
(I love this girl so much. So kawaiiii!! Real name -Toda Erika)
And now my favourite actor/character..
L
L is the world’s top-rated detective, tasked with tracking down and arresting Kira, and Light’s nemesis. His dishevelled appearance masks his great powers of deduction and insight. L has many quirks, such as sitting in an odd manner and snacking on sweets in the middle of meetings. He often takes drastic strategies to confuse and force his opponents, and on several occasions he has willingly disclosed several of his weaknesses to Kira at the risk of his own life in the hopes that he would lure him into a trap.
(He is so cool la. The weirdo who like to eat tonnes of sweet, chocolate etc, the way he hold the handphone, the way he sit and talk… so weird! One of a kind!!)
Ryuk
The original Shinigami who dropped the Death Note in the human world, which Light would pick up. Acting out of pure boredom, Ryuk begins the story of Death Note on a whim. Perhaps neutral by nature, Ryuk often refuses to aid Light and instead enjoys watching him struggle for his goal. The most important facet of Ryuk’s character is that he is not Light’s friend. He acts for his own interests and entertainment and often fails to tell Light key details about the Death Note. Ryuk is selfish, however, and will aid Light if it serves his own goals, such as providing amusement or obtaining apples.
Rem
The male Shinigami who first gives Misa his Death Note and "eyes." Similar to Ryuk, Rem possesses two Death Notes; however, he purposely gives a Death Note to Misa Amane. Rem inherited his second Death Note from Jealous and thought it only right to pass it on to Misa. Oddly enough, Rem inherits Jealous’ love for Misa as well and is prompt to defend Misa even at the cost of his life. He brings this to light when he openly shows his lack of trust for Light stating that if Misa dies before her time, Rem will kill Light thus ending his own life as well.
Well, this show is a ‘must watch’ movie for Anime fans. I am so hook to this that now, i am searching for the anime movies. Heard that it’s still being aired in Japan. The anime is a little different with the movie. There is Mello and Near.
For the last part in DN 2, there is a little confusing part. Why did L commit suicide? He only has 1 reason to suicide, that is to stop anyone from killing him within that 23 days, and thus giving him immunity to death within those time and able to catch kira. But misa can’t kill him, L knows that misa’s death note is fake so misa isnt even a threat. He didn’t predict Rem would have killed him because L said himself he is surprised that Raito would use Rem to kill him…
Anyway, some people told me that L suicided to convince Light’s dad to go along with his plan.Well according to the movie’s explanation at least. The dude didn’t believe L until L showed he was so convinced Light = Kira that he was willing to put his life on the line,in a literal sense.
But why to that extend? Why do he sacrified himself? Someone answer me this
Why to that extent, erm, cause he kinda figured Light was gonna do something but he couldn’t device a plan to catch Light by himself,he needed Light’s daddy and others to cooperate.Only be putting his life on the line did he convince them to do so.Why was he willing to give up his life?Well,I don’t know.Maybe he found great pleasure in solving his biggest case ever or he just wanted to stop Kira at all expense.
Kinda satisfied with the answer though. But not up the the par. Btw, i believed the anime it’s end that way. So must buy to watch la.
